Communicable Disease - Acute Communicable Disease Control - (Clinicians)

 


Acute Communicable Disease & Sexually Transmitted Disease Control works in partnership with the medical and general communities to control and prevent the occurrence and spread of communicable and sexually transmitted diseases among the residents of Alameda County through prevention, surveillance and outbreak control.
The program aims to:
  • Successfully interrupt and contain the spread of communicable disease clusters and outbreaks

  • Set priorities and develop effective disease intervention strategies

  • Utilize surveillance data to control communicable and sexually transmitted disease

  • Develop policies to address priority health needs

  • Provide technical consultation, assistance and training to health care providers on communicable disease (CD) & sexually transmitted disease (STD) management and treatment, and regulatory requirements of disease reporting
