This program provides reimbursement to hospitals and medical providers for uncompensated emergency medical services and blood alcohol level testing provided to adults in police custody - prior to booking. Reimbursement is paid at Medi-Cal rates.

Program Eligibility:

Hospitals and medical providers are eligible to receive reimbursement for adults who are in police custody in Alameda County and prior to booking: Require emergency medical services (i.e. Code 2 or 3) or alcohol level testing Are transported by ambulance to a medical facility Have no other source to pay for medical services
