Office of Dental Health promotes the oral (dental) health of Alameda County residents by assessment of oral health problems and resources to address them. This unit assures access to community-based resources and programs, and develops policies that address the oral health needs of the community. The emphasis is on prevention.

Goals
  • Develop resources and programs to address dental disease prevention and health promotion among children ages 0-5 year.

  • Develop resources to address preventive dental health care for school age children at risk for dental or medical problems

  • Provide dental sealants and preventive education by working with Alameda County school districts

  • Collaborate with community, professional and regional organizations to advocate for resources and policies that address dental health needs

  • Advocate for access to childhood dental care by age 1
