Partnerships and Community Collaborations

Why are partnerships and community collaborations important to achieving social and health equity?

As a health department, we cannot achieve health equity without working with the many communities of Alameda County, especially those most impacted by poor health. To achieve health equity, we believe the wisdom, passion, and experience of community members and organizations must be at the forefront of our work. Additionally, because other systems, like education, transportation, city planning, and criminal justice impact health, we must partner with government agencies, policymakers, the media, businesses, and other organizations. Together, we are creating innovative solutions for achieving social and health equity.
