Soda free Summer Campaign logo

Did you know the average person eats almost 175 pounds of sugar a year - about half a pound a day - and the single biggest source is sugary drinks? The extra calories from all that sugar leads to weight gain that can put people at risk for diabetes and heart disease.

That's why Alameda County Public Health Department's Nutrition Services invites you to be a part of its Soda Free Summer campaign, made possible by a grant from Kaiser Permanente.

Soda Free Summer will educate Alameda County families about the importance of reducing or eliminating products full of sugar/high fructose corn syrup-beginning with sodas.
