Chronic Disease Prevention Report: A Community Vision

This report summarizes the effort undertaken in 2012-2013 to gather input from a broad range of community stakeholders on how Alameda County Public Health Department should approach chronic disease prevention and achieve health equity for all. Many organizations and a diverse group of residents were engaged to share their community health concerns, desires, and possible solutions.

Alameda County Public Health Department, working with Oakland/Berkeley Community Action to Fight Asthma, has produced an Asthma Report Card. As a project of the Alta Bates Summit Ethnic Health Institute and RAMP, this Asthma Report Card provides data on asthma among school-age children in Oakland, Berkeley, and Alameda County. The report card includes a range of policy recommendations pertaining to schools and outdoor air quality.
